SEGREGATION

Segregation is a very bad thing. It separates white people from black.

At school I learnt that segregation can cause lots of harm and violence. I also learnt that Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King Jr did a boycott to hurt the bus companies for making a rule that blacks had to give their seats up for white people. When Rosa Parks did not give up her seat I was amazed because she knew she was going to go to jail. When she went further with this boycott she won a Nobel medal. When she died Martin carried on even though his house was bombed ,he was stabbed in the chest and he went to jail many times he still carried on. He won a peace prize and was the youngest person to win this. My question about segregation is how did segregation start? and why did they think that white people are better than black? Post a comment if you know.

  1. I agree Bailey. It is amazing how Martin Luther King Jr and Rosa Parks kept going even though terrible things happened to them. It would have taken a lot of courage and inner strength. You definitely need these things when faced with a challenge. - Mr Marquand
